Nicholas Opoku to replace injured Nuhu Musah in the Ghana U23 team ahead of Algeria clash

Udinese defender Nicholas Opoku has been invited to the National Under 23 tram to replace injured Musah Nuhu.

The former WAFA defender sustained an injury prior to the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and no definite date has been set for his return to action.

Nicholas Opoku who also missed the AFCON due to injury has fully recovered and is set to deputized for the injured defender.

He is is expected to join the team the team on Wednesday as they intensified preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics qualifiers against Algeria.

Other foreign players such as Yaw Yeboah, Gideon Mensah, Bukari Osman are also exxpected  to join the team before the game on Friday.

The Black Meteors will host Algeria in the first leg in Accra on Friday September 6, before traveling to Algiers for the return leg on Tuesday September 10. The winner will qualify to the 2019 Under -23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The 2019 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations will kick start from November 5 to 22 with the top four representing the continent at Tokyo 2020.
