Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong is eager to begin his new adventure after completing a deadline move to Scottish side Celtic.

The 18-year-old joined the SPL champions on a four-year deal after spending half of his life with Manchester City in their academy.

Frimpong impressed last season as the Under-18s made it to the FA Youth Cup final and the Under-21s reached the quarter-finals of the Checkatrade Trophy but interest from Neil Lennon proved too much for him to turn down.

He took to his Twitter page to express is excitement after sealing the move: ‘I’m proud to announce I have joined @CelticFC !!! Proud day for me and my family , can’t wait to get to work! 🍀⚽️. “
