Bragging AshGold chairman warns Kotoko ahead of A. K. Adusei Charity Cup on Sunday

AshGold bankroller Dr. Kwaku Frimpong (Champion) has warned Asante Kotoko of massive disgrace if they clash on Sunday in the A. K. Adusei Charity Cup on Sunday.

The two sides are set to lock horns in the A. K. Aduesi Charity Cup with bragging rights at stake following their CAF club completion triumphs last weekend.

But Champion has sarcastically pleaded for the postponement of the game because he thinks his side has the propensity of handing a heavy defeat to Kotoko that could disgrace the club.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Fox FM, champion postulated the following assertion;

“You know what, I would plead with them (Kotoko) to postpone it (the game) else it will be a disgrace for them.”

“They should postpone it because if you look at our team (Ashgold) and compare it with theirs, if they face us right now it will be a disgrace (to them)”, he added.

Champion was on record to have challenged Kotoko during a similar clash – “I will give my brand new Lamborghini to the first person I meet at the stadium should AshGold succumb to Kotoko”. He said.

The game ended 3-2 in favour of Kotoko but the case of the car was closed since.

Before the clubs’ CAF inter club competitions this year, the have met four times and Ashanti Gold won twice, Kotoko won one and one ended in draw.

Kotoko are set to play Etoil du Sahel of Tunisia whilst AshGold will lock horns with Moroccan’s giants RSB Berkane in the Round One of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
