Kjetil Zachariassen lauds the mentality of his players after Kano Pillars win

Head coach of Asante Kotoko kjetil Zachariassen has insisted he is not surprised with his players output after beating Kano Pillars to progress to the round 32 of the CAF Champions League.

Two goals in each halves from Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi helped the porcupines to eliminate their Nigerian counterpart 4-3 on aggregate.

Speaking to the media after the game, the former Ashantigold coach expressed his happiness with the output of his players, he also lauded the team’s mentality and believe.

“I’m quite happy with how players were tactical today, they stood in their believe, we have been talking about showing mentality for a while now and everybody was up to the task today, I had believe in the players so I’m not surprised”

Zachariassen also heaped praise on his center pairs Agyemang Badu and Habib Mohammed.

“I was quite happy with the centre pair because we were playing an attacking football, I believe Kotoko should be an club, hence we should play more offensive minded players in all department of the game”

Kotoko will face Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia in the round 32 of the competition.
