Black Meteors assistant head coach Micheal Osei has expressed satisfaction with his side after their 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak in a friendly game on Wednesday.
The team is scheduled to come up against Algeria in the third round of qualifiers for the U-23 AFCON tournament in Egypt later this year in November.
The former Asante Kotoko coach believes the team’s preparations is on the right track as they await the foreign players to join the team later.
“This is our third test game played so far and I can say we are very impress, aside the scoreline which is 1-0 in our favour, tactically the guys were very on top and were very organised” He told footballmadeinghana.com
“It’s always a norm to blend the foreign based with the local players so we will keep those who performs very well and wait for the foreign based so as to blend them together”
The head coach of Star Madrid Fc also confirmed some of the local players will be dropped to make way for the foreign base players.
“Some of the local based players will go home whiles others stays together with the foreign based players”
The first and second legs of the tie against Algeria will be played on September 6 and 10.
The Black Meteors are seeking to return to the Olympic Games for the first time since 2004.
