Ghanaian Players Abroad Best XI – WK2: Paintsil, Abass on target as Wakaso and KP Boateng show class

It was a busy week for Ghanaian players abroad following the return of all the major leagues around the world.

FootballMadeInGhana.com brings to you the Best XI players in terms of performance out of the over 100 Ghanaian players who played for their clubs abroad this week.

The system for the week is 4:2:3:1

Richard Ofori – GK (Maritzburg United): Ofori was not in action this weekend but was up for his side last week. The PSL went on break as the MTN 8 Competition was played this weekend. However, we maintain Ofori as the no.1 for this week following the inactivity of all Ghanaian goalkeepers abroad. Kwarasey has not been in action since April this year. Ati Zigi was on the bench for Sochaux. Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, U20 shot stopper was on the bench for KAS Cupen and Razak Brimah has not started the league.

Andy Yiadom (Reading FC): Andy was in a stupendous shape as he provided two assists for Reading in their 3-0 win over Cardiff City. The Ghanaian was in an amazing shape for the home side and lasted the entire duration of the game.

Lumor Agbeyenu (Real Mallorca): Lumor lasted the entire duration of the game for his new side Real Mallorca as they tasted sweet victory in their La Liga debut. They won 2-1 over Eibar.

Nicholas Opoku (Udinese Calcio): Opoku lasted the entire duration of the game for Udinese in their 3-1 win over Sudtirol in the Coppa Italia. Nicholas was in a fine form.

John Boye (Metz): John Boye was in full time action for Metz as they saw off giants Monaco by 3-0. The Ghanaian showed a lot of resilience and aggression at the back.

Isaac Cofie (Sivasspor): Cofie lasted the entire Duration of the game as Sivasspor blew away giants Basiktas by 3-0. The Ghanaian midfielder was amazing in the center for the winners and suffered a yellow card in the process.

Mubarak Wakaso (Deportivo Alaves): The hardworking midfielder saw full time action for Deportivo Alaves as they registered a 1-0 win over Levante. He beat off competition from Kudus Mohammed AND Thomas Partey to be selected in the team of the week.

Abass Issah (FC Utrecht): The former Asokwa Deportivo winger was on target for FC Utrecht in their 1-1 stalemate with Feyenoord in the Dutch Eredivise. The pacey youngster showed tenacity, precision, power and enough energy in putting the ball at the back of the net to rescue a point for his side.

Joseph Paintsil (KRC Genk): The former Tema Youth winger was on the scoresheet for Genk in the 4-0 silencing of Waasland Beveren. Paintsil scored and provided an assist in the game.

Anas Mohammed (Polokwane City): The Ghanaian striker was on target for Polokwane City as they won 2-0 away at Cape Town City in the MTN Top 8.

Kevin Prince Boateng (Fiorentina): played full time for Fiorentina in their 3-1 win over Monza in the Coppa Italia.
