Former Policy Analyst for kumasi Asante Kotoko Dr. Amo Srpong has broken his silence after been banned from going to the stadium by the Ghana Football Association
Sarpong was handed a six-month ban by the Ghana Football Association after firing a gun shots to disperse irate fans during a clash between Kotoko officials and Berekum Chelsea during the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
The KNUST lecture has been off the media landscape since his suspension.
Amo Sarpong opened up on Otec FM Sports for the first time since the incident in May, according to him, being off footballing activities is like a leave and he has taken sometime off to tour the United States of America. Sarpong also implored every individual needs a break from work to have sometime off.
“Being off footballing activities is like a leave. I went to the United States of America and spent sometime there. I came back last week for faithfuls congress.
“After our qualification against Pillars, I will go back to continue my tour, but this time I will be touring Europe and by the time I’m back to Ghana the ban has been exhausted”
“For the rest should hold fort and I know for sure we are going to eliminate Kano Pillars by beating them three goals, then we set sail till we qualify into the group stage. By the time I will be eligible to partake fully in the affairs of the club”
Amo Sarpong also highlighted what the fans are planning ahead of the game against Kano Pillars.
“We made arrangements for musical instrument to entertain the fans at the stadium.
“Some of the faithful fans have been reserving my seat at the stadium and decorating it with a replica jersey anytime Kotoko plays at home”
Amo Sarpong’s ban is expected to end on 12th November,2019.
