GFA Normalization Committee Spokesperson, Dan Kweku Yeboah has rubbished claims that he was paid winning bonus at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Black Stars players reportedly received $30,000 each, with other team officials cashing a whopping $10,000 as qualification bonus for progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.

In an interview with SportsWorldGhana, the ace broadcaster denied receiving any such amount, stating he was only paid per diem during the continental showpiece.

”I have heard and read countless reports in the local media which suggest that I was paid a $10,000 qualification bonus but I can tell you that no payment was paid to me during our stay in Egypt. I only took per diem and that is all.’’

Further checks also indicate that all journalists who were airlifted to Egypt on the ticket of the Youth and Sports ministry were paid $500 as per diem.

Ghana were booted out of the tournament after losing 5-4 on penalties to Tunisia in the round of 16 stage after playing out a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes.

The last 16 eviction is the country’s worst performance in the competition since 2006.
