Christian Atsu says he wants to stay at Newcastle United for “many years” as he targets a long and fruitful relationship with the Magpies.
Despite interest from other clubs, the 27 year old revealed he was happy to continue at St. James Park under the stewardship of ‘father-figure’ Rafa Benitez.
In May 2017, the Spaniard signed the winger on a permanent deal after Atsu initially impressed on loan at the Club.
“I’m very happy at Newcastle, I’m happy with fans, especially the manager Rafa Benitez and the entire staff. I would love to stay there for many years but it will depend on me and my performance. I have to do my job” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com
Atsu was instrumental for Newcastle last season as they finished 13th with 45 points in the English Premier League.
