Ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, Ghana legend Mohammed Polo has labelled the current crop of the Black Stars players as the luckiest in history.

According to the legend, the current crop of players have had everything to win the African Cup of Nations but have failed to do so.

“These crop of Black Stars players are the luckiest in history,” he told Atinka FM.

“They have all the ingredients in terms of resources to lift the AFCON trophy for Ghana but have failed to do so,” he added.

Polo compared the current team to their playing days and revealed how they had to fight for the country despite having nothing close to what the current team is enjoying.

“The situation and treatment was quite different some time back,” he added.

Polo was a member of the Black Stars squad that won the 1978 AFCON.

The African Cup of Nations has eluded the Black Stars since they last won it in 1982 in Libya.
