Hearts of Oak gaffer Kim Grant has hailed the mentality of his boys after securing a place in the Semi finals of the Normalization Committee Special Competition after piping Karela FC.
Christopher Bonney’s second half penalty helped the Phobians to beat the visitors at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite Karela FC coach Johnson Smith describing the penalty as dubious and Hearts a lucky side, Grant has saluted his boys for a good show.
Speaking after the game, the former Elmina Sharks manager stated he is proud of his boys after a hard fought victory over Karela United. He also talked about the mentality of his boys.
“Karela United are a very good team and I knew we had to be solid.
“We kept a clean sheet and had opportunities to score.
” We obviously got a penalty and we won the game from that,” he said.
“But overall, I am very delighted and so proud of the boys because they worked very hard for the points and that shows the winning mentality we got here,” he added.
Hearts of Oak will face Elmina Sharks on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
