DFC Global: Sarpong nets twice whilst Antwi, Owusu, Basiru and others put up superb performances


It was a great week for the ex-Dreams FC players with Michael Sarpong scoring a brace in Rwanda to take his tally to 12 this season, John Antwi scored against the league leaders, John Otu won his second trophy with Real Zaragoza whilst flamboyant Leonard Owusu and Basiru Alhassan excelling in Israel and Czeh Republic respectively.

Baba Rahman played 65 minutes for Stade Reims who were battered 3-0 at home by Nimes.


Striker Benjamin Tetteh missed Sparta Praque’s 3-0 win over Opava through injury.

Abdul Basiru played 90 minutes for Sparta Praque Under 21 who beat Sloval Liberec 2-1.

Zuberu Sharani also played 90 minutes for Sparta Under 19 who beat Hradec Králové 1-0


In the Ligat Ha’al, mercurial Leonard Owusu was impressive in the middle of the pitch for Ashdod FC who went away to beat Beitar Jerusalem 3-2.


Holding midfielder Emmanuel Eli Keke played 90 minutes for Vikingur Olafsvik who defeated Grotta 2-0 in the opener of the Icelandic second-tier


Abdul Bashiru and striker Abdul Basit Khalid were in action for Prishtina who beat Drenica Skenderaj 2-1

Central defender Ben Nash Quansah played 90 minutes for Flamurtari who went away to beat Gjilani 1-0.


John Antwi netted his tenth league goal this season as Makasa drew 1-1 with legue leaders Pyramids.

Defensive Midfielder George Dwubeng played 67 minutes for Al Wasl who went away to beat Ajman FC 2-1


Striker Michael Sarpong netted a brace for Rayon FC who defeated Espoir 4-0


Central defender Godfred Asante was a pillar at the back for Horoyah who went away to beat Coyah 2-1. Fellow Ghanaian Brefo Mensah got Horoya’s second goal
