NC Special Competition: Hearts 2-0 Inter Allies – Capelli Boys suffer painful defeat at the nation’s Wembley

Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways on Wednesday as they defeated visiting Inter Allies by 2-0 in the NC Special Competition at the Accra Sporrs Stadium.

Robert Sowah and Joseph Esso registered the goals for the Phobians as they served their fans with a sumptuous meal on a nice Wednesday afternoon.

The Phobians started the game brightly but lacked the cutting edge upfront as Inter Allies remained compact at the back.

There were few clear chances in the first half of the game with both teams missing them.

Inter Allies resorted to a counter attacking play leaving few men upfront but the Hearts of Oak back four foiled all their moves.

Inter Allies keeper Saeed Salifu saw red in the 48th minute after handling the ball outside his territory and the Phobians made the most of it as they grabbed the opener through Robert Addo Sowah in the 55th minute.

The Phobians forced Inter Allies to open up as they sought to score more and it proved disastrous as Joseph Esso netted the second goal in the 83rd minutes.

Inter Allies came all out piling pressure on Hearts of Oak but they held their guard until the blast of the whistle for the end of the game.
