After beating Ashanti Gold in the Match day four of the Normalization Committee Special Competition, Asante Kotoko trainer C K Akonnor has revealed the smartness of his side in outwitting their opponents in the game.
The Porcupine Warriors whipped the Miners by scoring two unanswered goals courtesy Fatawu Shafiu.
Akonnor stressed that, his team’s fitness level also played a role in their victory over the miners.
“We believed we were ahead of them (Ashgold) in terms of fitness and we were smart that’s how we were able to beat them,” he told Fox FM.
Akonnor also applauded the entire team and did not single out Fatawu Shafiu despite grabbing a brace for the side on Wednesday.
“Even though he is the one scoring for us but I want to see others scoring too, the likes of Prince Acquah are all doing well, I don’t want to give the credit to Fatawu alone but he did very well”.
Abdul Fatawu Safiu has scored four goals in four games in the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
