Dreams FC technical director Abdul Karim Zito is elated following Kotoko’s 3-0 humiliation of Nkana FC in the CAF Confederations Cup Group C game at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
Zito who is one of the few players to have played and also coached Kotoko insists the Porcupine Warriors showed their pedigree and played with character as they saw off the Zambian giants.
“I’m very much excited with the performance of the team yesterday because the players did very well and went into the game with a winning mentality.” Zito told Ashh FM
“It was a phenomenal character from the team and a change of attitude that resulted in our victory over Nkana FC”
“The pairing at the back on Sunday limited the mistakes and that tells you that CK Akonnor is a listening type of coach. I am very proud of him”
“We must be able to possess the ball more though the possession was good but every player on the field must be his brother’s keeper and I know that will take the team higher”
He added: “There is no book in football that says we don’t change a winning team but the opponents will determine the type of players to use for a particular game”
“I will thank all the supporters for supporting the team and it remembered me of our days at Kotoko”
Kotoko will face Al Hilal at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in their last group home game.
