The Normalization Committee of the Ghana FA has called off the upcoming Special Competition for Premier and Division One League clubs, citing no reason for the cancellation.
In a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Committee Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the Normalization Committee failed to state the specific reason necessitating the cancellation but insisted the competition has been cancelled.
The competition which was expected to see the participation of all 16 Premier League clubs as well as all the 48 Division One League clubs has therefore been cancelled.
Despite failing to state reasons for the cancellation of the competition, the antagonistic statement of the NC which seeks to blame Premier League clubs for the cancellation of the competition.
According to the Normalization Committee, the completion was expected to reignite the interest of football in Ghanaians as well as sustaining the love of the game.
Despite several agitations that the competition was not necessary, the NC was bent on staging the tournament which was only seen as an avenue to milk the Government of Ghana that is already crying of lack of funds to undertake several development projects.
The NC, however, apologized to Division One League clubs for their inability to stage the competition but posed an obscene posture towards premier league clubs describing them as selfish, greedy and boisterous.
The statement further claimed and assured Ghanaians that Ghana football will be normalized no matter the level of opposition.
