No Champions League football for Baffour as CAF throw Ismaily out

Talented Ghanaian defender Richard Baffour will play no further part in this year’s CAF Champions League after Africa football ruling body (CAF)kicked them out of the competition.

Fans of the Mango boys misbehaved in their game against Club Africain by throwing stones and other missiles at the assistant referee.

CAF issued an official statement on Wednesday banning Ismaily from Africa’s prestigious club competition.

“Ismaily FC fans had been throwing stones and water bottles at the assistant referee and the opposing team (Club Africain from Tunisia),” CAF stated.

The suspension of Ismaily is not a good for Baffour who is in form and could have used the tournament to further push for a Black Stars call up.

The expulsion of Ismaily leaves Group C with three teams, namely CS Constantine of Algeria, TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tunisian outfit Club Africain
