Player Ratings: Coton Sports 2-3 Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko produced an impressive display to secure a 3-2 advantage in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup playoff against Cotton Sport on Sunday.

A goal each from Emmanuel Gyamfi, Maxwell Baakoh and Fatawu Abdul Safiu was enough despite two consolation goals from the hosts.’s Abdul Wadudu Osman Rates the performance of Asante kotoko players.

Felix Annan(7/10) – Can’t be blame for the two goals he conceded. Produced a massive save to denied Kamilou in the first half.

Amos Frimpong ( 7/10) – Good display by the captain of the team. Defensively solid. And was good on the attack too.

Augustine Sefa( 7/10) – Good game by the excitement Ashanti Good player. Help more on the attack with some fine crossing. Wasn’t tested much by the Cameroonians.

Ismael Abdul Ganiu(8/10) – Organized the back very well. Made some timely interventions to denied the Cameroonians on several occasions. Failed to communicate well for Cotono Sports second goal.

Agyeman Badu(9 /10)- Continue his impressive form for the Porcupines. Made Kamilou will not get the supplies but rather draw back to get ball.

Richard Senenu (7/10) – Slow but sure. Kept it tight in midfield. Very lively in the first quarter and put in some timely challenges to stop the opponent onslaught.

Kwame Bonsu Conte(6/10) – showed glimpses of his quality. Help a lot defensively but didn’t offer much on the attack.

Emmanuel Gyamfi (9/10) – A thorn in the flesh of the opponent. Was a constant threat to the defenders. Scored a beautiful goal to put his team ahead.

Maxwell Baako (8/10) – What a way to score his first goal for the club. Help the team s lot on the attack. Conceded a  penalty for a stupid challenge in the 18yard box.

Abdul Fatawu-(7/10) – Had a slow start to the game. But managed to get himself into the game. Made use of a gifted pass from the opponent defence to put the game to bed.

Sougne Yacouba( 8/10)- What a player he is.  Missed two clear chances in the space of three minutes. But was fantastic to watch. Involved himself more in the game by drawing back and taking on the defense. He will be sad on not getting on the score sheet.


Obed Owusu ( 6/10) – Didn’t offer much on the attack after coming on for Safiu Abdul Fatawu.

Prince Acquah (5/10) – Brought on for Kwame tired Bonsu. Couldn’t settle well as his team were under a lot of pressure

Umar Bashir ( )- Came in for Yacouba in the die embers of the game.
