Charles Akonnor has lauded his players for Asante Kotoko’s impressive 3-2 win over Cotton Sport on Sunday.
The win sees the Ghanaian giants take a massive advantage in the CAF Confederation Cup playoff round with the second leg to be played in Kumasi.
Emmanuel Gyamfi and Maxwell Baako had given the Porcupine Warriors a 2-0 lead inside 30 minutes of the match.

Akonnor who has come under pressure ahead of the game prefers to direct all the praises to his players.
“Look, you made it happen,” Akonnor told his players after the game.
“Yes, you did it, and I am very proud of you.
“I knew it wasn’t going to be easy,” Akonnor told Kotoko Express App in a later interview.
“Cotton Sport are a great side, but we had a plan and I am so glad that my players carried through the plan perfectly.”
Kotoko will return home for the second leg very high on confidence as they look to secure qualification to the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
