Antwi in pole position to win SWAG award


Al Makasa striker John Antwi is likely to be crowned as Sports Writers Association of Ghana male footballer of the year for 2018.

The awards which is scheduled for later this year will see the Egypt-based striker battling Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey, Kotoko goalie Felix Annan, Kassim Nuhu of  German club, Hoffenheim, and Joseph Aidoo of  Genk for the prestigious award.

Antwi netted 16 goals in 29 appearances last season providing six assists as his side finished second in the Egyptian League.

In December also, Antwi set a new record as the highest foreign goal scorer ever in the history of Egyptian football after netting  a hattrick against ENPPI which took his tally to 63.
