Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC are in Ghana prior to their CAF Champions League game with Nigerian outfit Lobi Stars this weekend.
The Kenyan champions arrived in Ghana on Thursday but missed their connecting flight to Abuja and they now have to stay and train in Ghana till Friday afternoon.
“We are in Ghana out of certain circumstances because the team missed the connecting flight from Accra to Abuja and the next available one is today . We have have gotten a good hotel and training ground in Accra,” club chairman Ambrose Rachier stated.
“I am confident heading into this match. It will be historic because no Kenyan team has progressed to the group stage since this tournament was rebranded. This task is like crossing the bridge to Canaan and I leave it in the hands of God because we have done everything possible to prepare the boys,”
The team will leave the Kotoko International Airport at 2pm Ghana time today (Friday).
