Odoi powers Fulham to play off final

Belgian-born Ghanaian defender Denis Frimpong Odoi was on target in the English Championship Play off on Wednesday night as Fulham defeated Derby County by two goals to nothing at Craven Cottage in London.

Odoi who previously featured for Anderlecht and Lokeren in the Belgian Pro League soared high above his marker to nod home a Ryan Sessegnon corner kick in the 66th minute.

The versatile defender was a pillar at the back as he put the brakes on the Derby attackers made up of Cameron Jerome, Andreas Weimann and Tom Lawrence.

Odoi, 29 is yet to be capped officially by Belgian or Ghana at senior level though he played a non-recognized friendly game for the Europeans in 2012.

Fulham will meet the winner of the Aston Villa-Middlesbrough game in the final -play off in Wembley.
