Enyimba SC goalie, Fatau Dauda has expressed his delight after helping his side to secure victory over Energie of Benin in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup.
Enyimba won 2-0 Cotonou. They stand a good chance of making it to the next round of the competition.
Fatau Dauda couldn’t hide his delight after keeping another clean sheet this season.
“Alhamdulilaah! We thank Allah for the win away from home. It’s always difficult playing away from home. Allah has been good to me. I’m doing well for myself and the team. My extra training is paying off” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com in a post-match interview.
Despite having a two-goal cushion ahead of the second leg at home, Fatau Dauda said they won’t underrate their opponent.
“Football is unpredictable. Though we’ve a very good advantage, we need to work harder to finish the second leg back home in Calabar. We aren’t going to underrate them” he said. Fatau, who has kept five clean sheets in ten games, explained what his motivation has been.
“Though I’ve played in the highest level in football but I’m still listening and learning. My prayers and training, I don’t joke with it. Then, my team, especially my back four contributes to my clean sheets”.
