Former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko defender, Edward Agyemang Duah has stated that, he used to weep uncontrollably every day during the early stages of his stroke ailment, adding that back then, things were very tough.
Rambo as he is affectionately known in football circles has been suffering from the cardiovascular condition for the past five years and that has rendered him bankrupt due to the several medications he has had to take till now.
“This thing started like a joke, but before I knew it, I couldn’t walk or even move parts of my body. It was very tough for my family and I. We’ve been through a lot these past five years” Agyemang Duah told FootballMadeInGhana.com in an exclusive interview at his residence.
“I won’t lie to you, I used to cry almost every day during the early stages of this illness. I just couldn’t come to terms with the fact that I might not walk again or move some parts of my body. But I thank God for a great family I have, they supported me from day one and they are still with me” he added.
“Gradually am getting better as now I can walk, though with some difficulty”. Rambo is the only Ghanaian player who played in three CAF Champions League finals with Asante Kotoko, Ashantigold and finally Hearts of Oak.
