Newcastle Manager Rafael Benitez has indicated that Ghana winger Christian Atsu will play no part this weekend when the Magpies travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the English Premier League.
Atsu got injured before the international break but chose to answer Ghana’s call for the World Cup game against Egypt where he aggravated the injury in one of the training sessions.
In a Press Conference ahead of the game against the Reds on Saturday, the Spanish gaffer pointed out that the the left-footed winger will not feature as he would be out for some time.
“Christian Atsu is injured and will not be available. He will be out a couple of weeks, we’ll see next week how Lascelles also feels.” Benitez stated
The absence of the former FC Porto and Chelsea star is likely to affect the game plan of Rafa Benitez as he has been one of his trusted players so far this season.
Atsu has played eleven times for Newcastle United scoring one goal and providing one assist as they sits 11th on the league log.
