Fiorentina have joined the race to sign Ghana midfielder Joseph Alfred Duncan from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo.

La viola were initially interested in Marco Benassi of Torino but his over € 25 million price-tag has putting them off and they have now switched their attention to Alfred Duncan.

Sassuolo have already stated that Duncan will leave for not less than € 20 million after they rejected Inter Milan’s €12 million bid on Monday.

Manager Stefano Pioli watched a couple of Sassuolo games last season and is said to be keen on Duncan who has a similar style to Benassi.

Duncan has three more years on his Sassuolo contract but is opened to a move outside the Mapei Stadium.
