Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom says his outfit must get a “respectable” amount of money if Ghana defender Andy Kyere Yiadom decides to leave the club.
Heckingbottom believes his outfit deserve a better fee as they have made Yiadom the top player he is currently.
Yiadom joined Barnsley from League Two side Barnet just last summer but has developed to be one of the top players in the championship earning a place in the end of season all-star team.
“It’s us that did the work with him to make him a top Championship player and we have turned him into a player with a really big value,” Heckingbottom stated
“He’s our player and we did that work with him.
“It’s us that showed our faith in him and bought him.”
Huddersfield Town’s £700000 bid for Yiadom was rejected by Barnsley as it was termed as a big “insult”.
