Ghana duo of Abraham Akwasi Frimpong and Richmond Boakye as well as two of their Red Star Belgrade team mates secured late visa’s to travel with the group for their Europa League second round game against Irtysh Pavlodar.
The Ghanaian pair as well as Costa Rican John Jairo Ruiz, and Gabonese midfielder Guelor Kanga were initially denied the visa but the management of the club had to intervene with the necessary paper work and the four players were given late visa’s to travel with the team.
Red Star defeated Maltese side Floriana FC 6-3 on aggregate over two legs to make it to the second round where they will lock horns with the Kazakhstani Premier league outfit.
Both Boakye and Frimpong played key roles in the first round game and they are expected to feature again today.
