Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau has joined Slovenian giants NK Olympija Ljubljana on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old right-back signed for the Dragons on Tuesday after three years at Belgian side Westerlo where he made 64 appearances netting four goals.
Apau who was once courted by Jose Mourinho for Chelsea is expected to play a big role in manager Igor Biscan’s side as they seek to wrestle the title from Nogometna Klub Maribor.
The former Ajax Amsterdam youth team star is confident that he can make it big at Ljubljana as the conditions favor him.
“People in Ljubljana are friendly, they speak English, so I believe that I will get involved quickly. I have trained well, even in Olympia, the conditions for work are excellent,” Apau stated.
“I believe I’m good on the ball. I hope to show this to Olimpija fans,”
Olimpija Ljubljana already have two Ghanaians in their fold already namely Issah Abass and Kingsley Boateng.
