Head Coach of the Walia Antelopes of Ethiopia, Ashenafi Bekele has named a strong squad to face Uganda in a friendly game as well as the Black Stars of Ghana in the AFCON 2019 qualifying game at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi next weekend.

The former Adama Ketema coach was appointed as the gaffer of the side three -months ago and is gradually putting together a winsome side which could qualify for the next AFCON.

Bekele’s 29-man squad is basically made up of home-based players with only Shimelis Bekele who plies his trade with Petroject in Egypt as well as Entag El Harby’s Oumed Okuri as the only foreign-based players.

Skipper Salahdin Said of local side St. Georges and Abel Mamo are some of the notable players in the team whilst Awet GebreMikael, Ame Mohammed and Abdurahman Mubarak have gotten their debut call up.
