Ghana strikers Asamoah Gyan and Nana Poku will be playing for a new club under the name Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club if both agree to stay with their respective teams.

Thee Vice President of UAE  His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who also doubles as the Prime Minister has decreed that three clubs namely Al Ahli, Al Shabab and Dubai Club should be joined together as one.

“We seek to build a strong football team that can compete continentally and globally. Therefore I decree that Al Ahli, Al Shabab and Dubai Club be merged into one” The Vice President Ordered in a national press conference.

Gyan is on loan at Al Ahli from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG and could make the deal permanent depending on financial terms whilst Nana Poku’s contract with Al Shabab ends in the summer of 2019.

Similarly,  His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of the UAE City of Sharjah has also issued a resolution merging Al Shaab Club and Al Sharjah Club into a single entity which will be called Sharjah Cultural Club.
