Ghana youngster Dan Agyei is set for his first EPL start this weekend when Burnley lock horns with relegation-threatened Swansea City at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The suspension of Ashley Barnes, who was sent off in injury-time during last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Hull City, opens the door for the teenager to be given a chance to impress as he continues his development at the club.
Manager Sean Dyche’s is currently handicapped in terms of attacking options following Patrick Bamford’s return to Chelsea and has emphasized that Agyei could be thrown into action as he seeks all three points.
“Agyei could play this weekend against Swansea as he is the next biggest option we have. He has proved himself in previous opportunities and he can do the job again,” Dyche stated.
The 19-year-old was developed at AFC Wimbledon but was snapped up by Burnley where he made a first team impact in the Championship after a loan deal at Coventry City.
He has played three EPL games this season all as substitute.
