The Sports Minister of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Isaac Asiamah has revealed that there was nothing in the coffers of the Ministry when his administration took over.
Asiamah stressed that the Ministry was heading towards bankruptcy as there was a huge debt they came to meet and had to pay. “I am sorry to report to you that we met a negative balance of GHc51 million, that is the debt we inherited,” Asiamah stated when he met the Press on Tuesday.
“There was nothing at the Ministry of Youth and Sports and we are now trying to put things together”. The cabinet minister further mentioned that gradually the ministry is getting back on its feet as he has great minds who are supporting him to push things up.
“All these things that have been able to happen are through creative minds that’s what has happened here. So if we have been able to achieve a lot, that is why I am grateful to my able lieutenants, they are creative people and they are helping us to achieve a lot at the Ministry of Youth and Sports”.
“As it’s said, you come and fix challenge, so we are fixing the challenge through creative means,” he added.
