Division One side, Sekondi Hasaacas ended their three-week justify inclusion on Friday, December 22, 2017. Over 100 players across the country were there to try their luck.
In the end, 18 of them were selected by the technical team, headed by former player, Joe Agyeman Jnr. Coach Agyeman supervised three friendly matches with the aim of assessing the players who turned up for the justifiers.
The coach lamented the turnout as far as goalkeepers are concerned. He wondered why goalkeepers hardly show-up at such sessions. Hasaacas are on the verge of losing goalie, John Arthur to Ebusua Dwarfs. Perhaps having more goalies at the justifier would’ve been a fine opportunity to make a good choice.
In an interview with FootballMadeInGhana.com, Coach Agyemang identified the challenges they encountered during the justifiers. “When we started, the number of the players weren’t encouraging but it kept increasing day by day. It turned out to be encouraging eventually.
“For now, we’ve picked 18 players who will play against our first team. We will trim the team again before the season starts” he added.
One of the only two goalkeepers that showed up at the justifier, Augustine Abban, was happy with the chance of playing for Hasaacas. Abban, who travelled from Dunkwa in the Central Region, told FootballMadeInGhana.com that, he was moved by Hasaacas’ status.
“As a footballer, you’ve to struggle to the top, it isn’t always easy but you have to try”. My reasons for choosing Hasaacas is that, they are a big club. They can qualify for the Ghana Premier League easily; it’s my vision to play there”.
