Coach of Elmina Sharks, Yaw Acheampong has expressed his utter delight to be officially appointed as the Head Coach of the Edina-based club.
The former Goldfields (now Ashgold) defender took over the club in the 2016/17 season, days after their former trainer, Coach Amissah was sacked over the club’s declining fortunes in the league. Yaw Acheampong steered them to avoid relegation in what was their debut season.
He was made the substantive head coach of the club after massive changes were made in the technical department. Shortly after his inauguration, Coach Yaw Acheampong told journalists that, he’s under no pressure whatsoever occupying his latest position.
“It’s not pressure, because for pressure, it’s been with us since our playing days. I don’t see it as pressure but a target to fulfill. I will have to make sure I hit the target as Coach of Elmina Sharks” he said.
