Black Starlets captain, Eric Ayiah says he is not too disappointed with losing out on the final three of the CAF Youth Player of the Year award.
The player, who was initially named in the five-man shortlist, was not in the top three of the youth player category named at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
“Yes I am disappointed but I will rather draw positives from this. There are a lot of young players all over Africa and for me to be named among the top five is a great achievement” Ayiah told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“I am very happy that my named popped up and it shows that indeed I had a wonderful year for my nation. I would have loved to be in the final three and eventually win it. But that is one of those things” he added.
Luther Singh (South Africa & Braga) and Eric Ayiah (Ghana & Charity Stars) missed out whilst Krepin Diatta (Senegal & Sarpsborg), Patson Daka (Zambia & Liefering) and Salam Giddou (Mali & Guidars) made the shortlist.
