West Bromich Albion are battling Swansea in a two-horse race for the signature of Ghana defender Andy Yiadom.
Yiadom, 26, has been a revelation since joining Barnsley from Barnet in the Summer of 2016 and has attracted numerous in the English Premier League.
During the Summer 2017 transfer window, Huddersfield and Swansea tried to sign him but the deal collapsed at the final moment making him to stay with the championship side.
A report on English Sports Portal HITC as well as the Mirror on Tuesday highlighted that West Bromich and Swansea are now the front runners to sign the Ghanaian in January.
The lateral defender’s contract with Barnsley ends next summer and the club must cash in on him next month to avoid losing him for free.
He recently rejected a new contract extension at Barnsley as he plans to seek a fresh challenge.
