Medeama SC midfield enforcer Kwasi Donsu says injuries and other things have greatly affected his output in the Ghana Premier League this season.
Donsu was arguably the best midfielder in the Ghana Premier League last season as he banged in fifteen goals in the Ghanaian topflight with ten of them being from free kicks.
However, the talented midfielder has been a pale shadow of himself this season and he is now trying to rediscover his form as his below class performance has greatly affected Medeama who are now battling for survival.
” Last season, I played lots of games and scored lots of goals and people were expecting much from me this campaign but unfortunately it has not been so” Donsu told Graphic Sports
“I traveled and when I came back I got injured, I did not have pre-season and that is what has affected me seriously. I am gradually getting back on track and I can see I am improving bit by bit. Currently it is the goals which are not coming but hopefully it will come soon.”
Donsu who was superb in midfield against Inter Allies at the El Wak Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League Week 28 encounter further indicated that their focused now is on the game with Hearts of Oak and will be going for a win.
“Looking at where we are, coming to the inter allies game we were expecting a win or draw but we lost and that is football. We will take it like that and go and do our home work well ahead of the Hearts of Oak game.”
“We are not safe on the league log and we cannot afford to slip. We are going all out for a win against Hearts of Oak so our fans should come and rally behind us”
Medeama are having 38 points and will need at least one win from their remaining two games to maintain their Ghana Premier League status.
