The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has stated that Ghana has the adequate facilities to host the 2018 Championship of African Nations Tournament.
Kenya was due to host the Tournament which start in January next year but CAF has stripped the East African nation of the right because of poor preparations.
With just four-month to the start of the championship, the ruling body of African football has opened the avenue for country’s to bid of which Ghana could embrace the offer.
“We have facilities, those who are going to put in bids are not going to be countries who are now coming to tell you we are constructing stadia or we are improving hotel facilities,”Nyantakyi stated on Sunday
“It will considered solely on the bases of those who have an existing infrastructure in place. CAF considered us (Ghana) for the 2015 AFCON when Morocco pulled out, but eventually Equatorial Guinea won and hosted the tournament.”
“Is not going to be an open invitation to people who now struggling to put together infrastructure. We are ready and we will fight for it,”
Ghana just successfully hosted the 2017 WAFU Tournament and won it.
