Red Star Belgrade forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom has dedicated his two goals against Maltese side Floriana FC in the Europa League on Thursday night to Almighty God.
Boakye who was making his debut in Europe’s second biggest club competition scored a brace as his side routed Maltese minnows by three goals to nothing at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade.
The Ghanaian insists God gave him the ability to go all out and also to find himself at the appropriate goal scoring areas.
“I dedicate my goals to God because he gave me the strength to achieve them, he put me in the right place at the right place,” he told the club’s website.
”Also, without my teammates I would surely not be able to give two goals and I dedicate them to them, as well as to all of our fans.
”Every goal I celebrate in a special way, what comes to my mind at that moment, I do it.
”I liked the dance, I love to play and now I will celebrate all my goals so. I like to entertain fans after a nice goal as it was today.”
Boakye is expected to lead the Rede-whites attack again next week Thursday when they travel to Malta for the return leg.
